Name: Amy
Title: Operations Director
When did you start at CK? 2021
When did you know that leadership and business was for you?
From early on in my career, I realised my ideal job was to work with businesses and their people to help them operate at their best. For years I did this in the not-for-profit sector, across government and private enterprise, which had the added driver of helping different social causes. It wasn’t until more recently, that I have transferred these skills to another industry.
What path led you to communikate et al?
My family have worked in advertising for generations, and whilst I never worked in the family business, I’d always taken an interest. I have fond memories of my Dad letting me help add up quotes for clients with the giant calculator and ‘helping’ behind reception in school holidays! When the opportunity of working with CK presented itself, I thought…..I think I’ve found my ultimate job!
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The wonderful team and the opportunities and flexibility small businesses bring. CK is like a person that has been around long enough to have the benefit of hindsight, mixed with someone who is young, enthusiastic, and willing to shake things up and try something new.
If you could describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
A thinker, sensitive and calm.
When you’re not at work, where will we find you and what will you be doing?
Socialising!
What are your top 3 philanthropic interests and why?
MumKIND – I am an ambassador for them and love their goal of supporting disadvantaged woman and children.
Donating my time to various not for profits and community organisations including Linden Park Primary School Governing Council and the Pembroke School Foundation Board.
What is your number 1 tip when it comes to managing a team?
You can say almost anything to anyone if you say it in the right way, with kindness and respect.
