An adventurous strategic positioning delivered with authenticity

The Opportunity

Westminster School is a leading co-educational school for day and boarding students, offering an exceptional education from Early Learning to Year 12.

With a new 5-year strategic plan in the making centred around the overarching concept of an ‘adventurous education to lead a full life’, communikate et al was approached to develop the School’s new positioning to support its brand and reputation in the years ahead.

Our Approach

We immersed ourselves in the Westminster way, from touring the School through to hours of conversations with the school leaders, old scholars, executives and parents to uncover what sets Westminster apart.

It was clear that Westminster doesn’t rein in adventurous hearts and minds, they set them free. They believe that every child’s inherent sense of adventure is the best learning tool they have and Westminster nurtures and grows that sense of adventure so that they can … Start Adventurous and Stay Adventurous.

Our role included:

  • Crafting their brand story and messaging
  • Campaign positioning and concepting
  • Production of a brand video and 6 supporting videos featuring the Principal and ‘pillar champions’ who spoke to each of the strategic pillars (in partnership with She Digital)
  • Brand photoshoot
  • Concepting, design and production management of a Strategic Plan booklet, posters, press ads, digital assets and signage

The Outcome

Westminster successfully launch the new strategic plan to all key stakeholders, with a strong and cohesive brand positioning and look and feel to support the school’s reputation into 2024 and beyond.

At the internal launch of the new strategic plan, Westminster’s Chair and old scholar said the videos “capture the essence of who we are and reflect our core values with authenticity and heart and resonate with our identity and the spirit of our community.

“As an Old Scholar and Chair, these videos touched me deeply. Emotionally, I felt a profound sense of pride and connection. These videos reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that Westminster remains a place where every student can flourish. Many hours of interviews, wordsmithing, filming, and editing have gone into producing these videos. Your teams have gained an intimate understanding of what makes Westminster unique, and this understanding shines through in the videos and other creative outputs you have produced.” 

We continue to support Westminster School with the roll out of the brand campaign, together with other key marketing communications functions.
