Building and protecting Rundle Mall’s reputation
Rundle Mall is the premier retail and lifestyle destination in South Australia, boasting international and national brands, flagship stores and the widest product ranges.
Rundle Mall is managed by the Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA), a subsidiary of the City of Adelaide. It represents the diverse interests of property owners and 700 traders to reinforce Rundle Mall as the heart of Adelaide.
communikate et al has been providing corporate PR services to Rundle Mall since July 2018.
We began our relationship with an in-depth workshop to review Rundle Mall’s unique operating landscape, analyse stakeholders’ needs and review opportunities to engage and promote.
The results of workshop discussions informed the development of a PR strategy aimed at building and protecting Rundle Mall’s reputation as South Australia’s premier retail and lifestyle destination and build relationships with key stakeholders and media.
Our strategy aligns with Rundle Mall’s business plan to drive visitors to the Mall and deliver economic benefits to traders and property owners.
Working closely with Rundle Mall senior management, we provide reputation management advice on key operational issues and develop proactive publicity campaigns that leverage milestones on the retail calendar, the opening of flagship international brands and promote Rundle Mall’s partnerships, activations and events.
Rundle Mall was the dominant media voice across major retail trading milestones such as Black Friday, Christmas and Boxing Day sales, with more than 270 stories published across more than 35 media outlets targeting Rundle Mall’s key target audiences.

I have worked with communikate et al for many years in a number of roles. The visual impact of the creative was exactly what the Local Government Association was looking for to engage audiences and drive an increase in nominations from traditionally underrepresented groups on council.
As a result of the advertising we saw a particularly strong increase in candidates identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and many more candidates from culturally diverse backgrounds.
