The Opportunity

Rostrevor College is a Reception to Year 12 Catholic boys ’ day and boarding college.

In late 2012, communikate et al was tasked with strengthening Rostrevor College’s identity and increasing its profile to build enrolments.

The College wanted to reinforce positive messages such as record Year 12 results, completion of upgraded facilities and a reduction in school fees.

Our Approach

Following market research, communikate et al developed a comprehensive marketing communications strategy to help reposition Rostrevor College for the future, including:

• Re-branding – a new brand was developed which encapsulated the positive influence the College has on its students’ futures
• Publicity – an unprecedented level of media coverage to keep the College and its achievements in the public realm
• Photo and video shoots – imagery to celebrate the College’s 90-year anniversary and reflect the re-brand
• Advertising campaigns – rolling out the College’s new artwork with bus, print and digital advertising
• Stakeholder and community engagement – consultation for the proposed Womma redevelopment adjacent the College
• Issues management – supporting communication with media and the school community for sensitive and confidential issues

The Outcome

As a result of the sustained marketing and communications activity Rostrevor College:

• Secured 400 media placements across 60 different media outlets including print, radio, television and online
• Attracted 1500 new website click throughs
• Grew its social media audience
• Experienced renewed interest from prospective student families
