The Opportunity

The City of Unley has committed to transforming King William Road into Adelaide’s most loved main street.

With a focus on a community-led design for the precinct, the City of Unley engaged communikate et al to assist with a stakeholder and community engagement process, entitled ‘Design King William’.

Our Approach

To meet the needs of diverse stakeholder groups, we ensured all communications were:

• Strategically aligned
• Encouraging of feedback and consultation

Our integrated approach included:

• A comprehensive communications, marketing and community engagement strategy
• Creation and creative execution of the Design King William brand
• Design and fit out of a community engagement shopfront
• Development of community engagement tools
• Advertising campaigns
• Preparation of media materials and key messaging
• Website design and development
• Social media management
• Copywriting
• Strategic community engagement advice
• Stakeholder workshop facilitation

The Outcome

The Design King William project was awarded a 2018 Form Innovation award recognising the success of its communications and community engagement elements.

The campaign also delivered:

• More than 600 conversations between the City of Unley and the local community
• A community led design that had the support of the community and Unley elected members
