Taking the beach road towards a more contemporary brand

The Opportunity

Beach Road Wines in McLaren Vale is a family-owned and operated boutique winery, led by winemaker Briony Hoare and viticulturalist Tony Hoare.

Specialising in small batch wines with premium grapes crafted and bottled onsite, the winery was better known for its restaurant, events and views across the rolling hills, than its wines, which were leading the way, particularly the Italian varietals.

Our Approach

We supported Briony and Tony to unlock the story behind the brand, which paved the way for a rebrand.

For Beach Road Wines, they’re all about the carefree, beach-like moments. The salt in the air, the sound of water lapping, where landmarks spark memories and the scenery transforms as you roll towards the ocean – the edge of the earth. Where the everyday hustle takes a back seat and life feels that bit simpler. You relax, unwind, kick back and live in the moment. Just be.

They are passionate about bringing people together around the table to create memories through good wine, good food, good company and good conversation. Together, in the moment. Where the wine may be in the middle, but it’s not at the centre. Their values – Passionate, Authentic, Community-centric, Welcoming and Professional – guide their every move and are reflected in their new brand.

Our role included:

  • Brand identity for the overarching Beach Road wine brand
  • Design and production management of 10 individual wine labels
  • Cellar door concepting

The Outcome

Beach Road Wines started rolling out their new labels for their lifestyle and italian varietals in July 2023 to much acclaim for wine lovers far and wide.

This included 10 new labels across three distinct but aligned illustrative styles to convey the individual personalities of the wine.
