Wakefield Orthopaedic Clinic (WOC) is proud to provide high quality orthopaedic care to South Australian patients. Their team of specialists are leaders in their field, committed to helping their patients get back to what they love.

On communikate’s recommendation, Wakefield Orthopaedic Clinic recognised their website needed to be overhauled to compete in the online environment and communicate their standard of excellence. Issues relating to content management, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), user experience, design and functionality needed to be addressed.


The primary objectives were to create a website that:

  • positioned Wakefield Orthopaedic Clinic as a professional, trustworthy provider who delivers exceptional high quality healthcare
  • delivered a positive user experience to instill patient confidence and answer patient questions with simple language and limited medical jargon
  • reflected a clean, conservative design inline with their refreshed branding
  • offered an easy and intuitive navigation that was also mobile responsive
  • delivered increased organic traffic and high search engine rankings
  • was functional and easy to update by administrative staff


Our process began with a Discovery Session with key members of the team to gain a detailed understanding of the business goals and set out clear and measurable website objectives. We then held a User Requirements Workshop with representatives from WOC’s target markets to ensure the website would be user-centric and meet the needs of their patients and doctors.

Based on these insights communikate created a simpler, more user-centric sitemap with a focus on information, education and patient services and reassurance. We also produced a comprehensive project brief and developed user personas to guide the project through the design and build stages.

As well as designing and developing the new website, we also conducted keyword research for key pages to ensure the site would rank well in search engines.
