The Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM) is a major event on the international performing arts calendar. The 2010 sell-out event showcased 56 Australian and New Zealand acts to 600 presenters and producers from 25 countries around the world, and included a keynote address by Cate Blanchett.
communikate et al began managing the publicity for APAM in 2004, and was again engaged by Arts Projects Australia to manage the national and international publicity campaign for the 2010 event.
The key objectives of the campaign were to raise the profile of APAM and Australian and New Zealand artists and generate positive news stories across mainstream media. The campaign involved a media conference managed by communikate et al, which was held on the first day of the Market. Attendance at the media conference was strong, with more than 20 journalists, camera crews and photographers present, including all Adelaide TV news crews.
communikate et al worked closely with Arts Projects Australia and delivered a highly successful publicity campaign, positioning APAM as the leading international performing arts industry event in the Australasian region.
A total of 100 stories appeared across 68 media outlets across Australia, New Zealand and Asia, averaging 11 stories per week in the lead up to and during the event.
communikate et al was again engaged as publicists for the international publicity 2012 event resulting in more outstanding results for the event’s media profile.
A total of 63 stories appeared in 44 different media outlets during the four month campaign, including 11 national television stories.
