The Adelaide Benevolent Society is Adelaide’s oldest charity, which has been providing affordable housing and financial assistance to disadvantaged South Australians since 1849. communikate et al began to work in partnership with the Society in July 2011 as an extension of its team to help raise awareness of its longstanding commitment to the South Australian community.

An integrated communications campaign, with a particular focus on publicity, was used to build the Society’s reputation among its key markets and stakeholders. In addition to publicity, communikate et al’s work has included assisting with social media, brochure design and development, and the creation of a promotional video. communikate et al also helped launch a new $5.5 million housing development at Salisbury Downs by managing the special event which was attended by Minister Tony Piccolo, and achieved coverage in key media outlets.

Between July 2011 and August 2013, 44 targeted media stories were achieved across print, online, television and radio which helped raise awareness of the charity, its history and its work to date. communikate et al has helped build the Society’s reputation as a reliable and insightful commentator among key journalists, who now regularly approach the CEO for commentary on community housing issues and the role of not-for-profits in this field.
