Starlight Children’s Foundation took a leap of faith by engaging an external communications partner for the first time to execute their largest annual fundraiser in South Australia, Starlight Day. Following the outstanding success of Starlight Day, communikate et al was appointed to manage the ongoing public relations activity for Starlight to assist in raising its profile in a competitive charity market.

Among the objectives were to build the awareness of Starlight Children’s Foundation and its various programs designed to brighten the lives of seriously ill or hospitalised children in South Australia, while communicating the benefits of donating to Starlight in the business and broader community sector.

In the first three months alone, communikate et al secured 33 positive stories across 18 media outlets in South Australia, including SA Life, Today Tonight, ABC 891, National Nine News, The Advertiser and Sunday Mail.

The level of media coverage achieved is unprecedented for Starlight in the SA market and further demonstrates the importance of having a local communications partner creating and capitalising on opportunities on the ground.
