communikate et al managed McDonalds’ public relations needs in South Australia from 2003 – 2013. During this time, communikate was instrumental in helping to change the attitudes of key stakeholders towards the world’s best-known brand.
 
As a global brand, McDonald’s faced the daily challenge of communicating the positive changes and contributions it was making as a business and employer, and had begun a journey of change to meet customers’ changing needs.
 
communikate worked closely with the licensee community, state marketing team and national public affairs team to leverage national initiatives locally and proactively identify positive media opportunities, resulting in unprecedented coverage.
 
Our ongoing communications strategy involved publicising new announcements, coordinating media briefings, identifying speaking opportunities, speech and copy writing, leveraging national and local sponsorships through the media and publicising Ronald McDonald House Charities.
 
communikate was also responsible for the creation of the McDonald’s Get Active Sports Awards, held in conjunction with Channel Ten’s Simply Footy, promoting healthy active lifestyles among young sports people.
